gracefully.Apoptosis, the process of programmed, orderly cell death, is essential to our bodies' structure and function. Were it not to happen in development, we would have webbed hands and feet, too many neurons, and a face from a horror movie. But, like it does everything, the body carries out this process effectively and efficiently, not even leaving any debris behind. In fact, should the body stop its orderly sculpting we may suffer from one of our most relentless enemies as a result--cancer.
Be grateful for death--it really is part of life.
